uly 27, 2020: Ayodhya is set to witness the most-awaited construction of “Shree Ram Mandir” which was on hold since 1990 Ram Janmabhoomi Andolan. With Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s decision to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lay the foundation of the temple.
Sources confirmed that the Trust has proposed August 5 to PMO as the possible date for the much-awaited ceremony of Bhumi Poojan of Shree Ram Mandir. Saints and other devotees are hopeful of Mr. Modi making it. In fact, one of the top members of the trust, Kameshwar Chaupal, asserted that the PM has confirmed his visit.
The Trust held a meeting to decide to enlarge the present size of the Ram Mandir, there was consensus on two auspicious dates for ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ based on planetary configurations — August 3 or August 5. The crucial meeting of the Trust was also attended by the PM’s former principal secretary and chairman of the temple construction committee, Nripendra Misra.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday visited Ayodhya to review the preparation for the Bhumi Poojan ceremony on August 5 and placed the idols of Shree Laxman, Bharat and Shatrughan on the new ‘Aasans‘ he brought up from Lucknow.
The chief minister reached Ayodhya in the afternoon and took part in a ‘Puja’. He also offered prayers at the Hanumangarhi Temple and inspected the stones carved for Ram Temple at Mandir Nirmaan Karyashala.
The visit comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s expected visit to lay the foundation stone of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on August 5. The construction of the temple will start with the ceremony to lay the foundation stone.

“The PMO will take a final call about the dates,” confirmed general secretary of the Trust, Champat Rai, during a press conference at the Faizabad Circuit House. This was the first high-level meeting arranged by the Ram Janmbhoomi Trust after the court ruled in favor of the temple at Ram Janmbhoomi issue.
A Trust member has also confirmed that in the view of the COVID-19 pandemic, only 200 people would attend the Bhumipoojan ceremony, and all the social distancing and other measures will be followed in the event.
