It was the 66th edition of this monthly programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the various challenges faced by the country in the last few months and also discussed the Indo-China face off.

In a short message to China amid tension on the border in eastern Ladakh, PM Modi on Sunday said that those who cast an evil eye on Indian land have received a befitting reply and that while India sought peace it may look the adversary in the eye and respond properly to protect its sovereignty & honor.

Here Are the Key Highlights of PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat

  • Half of the year 2020 is over. On Mann Ki Baat we have been discussing various types of topics. And people are so much concerned about when 2020 will end. They Feel it has been a black year of many challenges.
  • Whatever are the challenges, the year should not be blamed; India’s history stands testimony to a wide range of glorious victories on all kinds of challenges.
  • The world has witnessed India’s commitment to protecting its borders & sovereignty. In eastern Ladakh, a befitting reply has been given to those claiming our territories.
  • The country bows to our brave martyrs. They have always protected India till their last breath. Their courage will always be remembered.
  • Our efforts should be towards strengthening the country’s infrastructure and focus on making the country stronger & self-reliant. It will be a real tribute to our martyrs.
  • No government can make a mission successful without people’s contribution & participation – as a citizen, I seek your solution, devotion and cooperation in making the nation ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’.
  • Raiders attacked India for hundreds of years; they thought India would lose its existence and culture; on the contrary, it contributed to the glory and elegance of the country.
  • Followed by our strong & proven cultural ethos, India has expertise in turning challenges into success and opportunities. We will do this again this time as well.
  • India knows to maintain an honest friendship, but it can look someone in the eye and retaliate; our bravehearts have shown that they won’t let anybody harm Mother India.
  • There could be plenty of challenges, but our history has shown that we’ve always overcome them and replied befittingly.
  • As the country moves towards unlocking, we will have to be more careful during unlocking than lockdown. India is unlocking, be it in sectors like coal, space, agriculture and more… It’s the perfect time to work together to leverage the potential to build a self-reliant and technically advanced India.
  • Lots of things that were kept locked for decades are being unlocked; enabling commercial mining will change the situation.

Other than addressing these things to the nation, he stressed on following COVID-19 safety guidelines. A major chunk of the economy is active now. But there shouldn’t be any negligence in maintaining six feet distance (Do Gaj Ki Doori), wearing masks and staying indoor as much as possible.
