Wipro to Appoint New CEO After Neemuchwala’s Bow Out

After a successful service for 6 years as Group President, Chief Operative Officer, and Chief Executive Officer in Wipro, Abidali Neemuchwala resigned on Friday. Former CEO Abidali said he resigned due to family commitments. He added, his will hold until the company finds a new successor. 

Wipro’s board of directors has confirmed the search of a new CEO. Industry analysts lay a statement says, any internal candidate may appear in this race. Abidali will continue for a few months to ensure the company’s operation as usual. 

“We thank Abid for his leadership and his contributions to Wipro”. Over the past four years, Abid helped build a strong execution mindset, drove key acquisitions and scaled our digital business globally,’ Wipro’s chairman Rishad Premji spoke. 

Industry experts figured out the predictions and said, ‘ Abidali had raised a strong foundation of IT company headquartered in Bengaluru. 

“It has been my honor to serve Wipro, a company backed by a rich legacy of 75 years. Our progress was considerable and the journey was progressive, I thank Premji Rishad, Our Board of Directors and Colleagues for their constant support over the years, Abidali Neemuchwala said in a statement.”

Fifty-years old, IIT Bombay Post-graduated, Abidali Neemuchwala was a master in Industrial Management. He also has a degree in Electronics and Communication from NIT-Nagpur.

Wipro is a globally renowned information and technology consultant and a business solution company has an employment of 175,000 employees. Neemuchwla’s resignation has affected the company’s share as a down of 2.35 per cent has been recorded on NSE on Friday.
