Mount Maunganui didn’t approve India’s victory in the third ODI against New Zealand. The kiwis (NZ) wiped the floor with India in the 3rd ODI.
With a thrilling sensation to drag the series in its favor, overwhelmed India hit the ground to win against New Zealand. It seems that India vs New Zealand, predictions came true after New Zealand finished a 3-0 swipe with a victory by 5 wickets over India in the third match, played at Mount Maunganui on Thursday.
It is the worst defeat of India in the last three decades in a series in which all the matches have been completed. In addition to this, Henry Nicholls (80); Martin Guptill managed to score 66 for 46 balls; Colin De Grandhomme (58*) as the ‘Kiwis’ achieved 300-runs with the loss of five wickets in 47.1 overs.
Oh, Confound! Promptly, India stuck with 296-runs for seven wickets after two impeccable loses. Applaud for K L Rahul (112), who’s century went in ruins. In order to chase a target of 297, New Zealand pitch down with a super-stroke of ‘Martin Guptill’ and ‘Henry Nicholls’ hit a Fifty in just 40 balls. On the good path, New Zealand managed to add 106 on the scoreboard till their first wicket. With an avenging spirit of T20, Guptill struck for four sixes and six fours against a young Mumbai guy ‘Shardul Thakur and fear over new Indian Bowlers with his aggressive and avenged gameplay. Navdeep Saini (68); Shardul (87); Wicketless Bumrah in this series managed to contribute to (50) in the 3rd ODI series India vs New Zealand. Thakur smacked the first wicket on the ground of Blackcaps which proved unlucky.
New Zealand’s triumph over India in the third ODI series is the exact retribution for a historic whitewash in T20I. From most celebrated T20’s Victory against New Zealand to ODI lose against the same opponent, this the form of cricket. The final move to be taken down shall be ‘Whitewash to Whitewashed’ and ‘the Kiwis’ be entitled to the appreciations.
From India’s ballistic performance in T20I to miserable gun down in the 3 ODI’s, the series was full of up and down where New Zealand managed to grab the grilles and India had to struggle with fluctuations lead the series to a big loss.
India’s expectations from Bumrah and Kohli got in vain through the beginning of the series. Bumrah just smacked a fifty and on the other hand, the captain Kohli’s performance was underneath the marks. Virat Kohli left for 9 only which caused India to lose against New Zealand.
Also, the absence of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan was felt while Kohli missed out on a big score and K L Rahul’s geared up his gameplay later. New Zealand didn’t sound or export the stress over the target of 296-runs.
Despite lacking renowned skipper and captain ‘Kane Williamson’ due to a serious shoulder injury, New Zealand’s outstanding performance against India has been recorded in the 3rd and final ODI, on Tuesday at Mount Maunganui.
Not getting the best 11 on the board will always be denounced
The overwhelmed zeal and enthusiasm for playing on the home ground can be seen through the entire team of New Zealand. However, India was not playing in ‘Eden Garden’. Before setting marks in playing XIs, both India and New Zealand considered multiple changes. India cleared the way for ‘Manish Pandey’ by replacing Kedar Jadhav. Though New Zealand’s regular captain ‘Kane Williamson’ was fit and supposed to replace Tom Blundell in playing XI. India’s selection of the best XI was really dissappointed and lacked of planning, however, the Kiwis managed it on their own to drag the most spectacular victory on their sides.
Virat & Bumrah Performance followed by poor Fielding:
India could have done better with bowling and fielding. But wicket-less Bumrah and runless Kohli, Both look like lions without a mane. Despite Bumrah’s failure on the ground in the entire ODI series, Yuzvendra Chahal was the only hope in his (3-97) session. Jasprit’s performance was notable in T20I with 3 wickets against the same team (NZ), whitewashed India in one-day international 2020. It was a historic exchange and it seems like New Zealand came down to the pitch with an intention to avenge for its defeat in T20 international.
