Your journey to find a new job starts with the circulation of a piece of paper. In a professional tone, this little one or just two pieces of paper, which determines your employment with any organization is called ‘Resume’ also known as ‘CV’. As per their nature, people often take things too seriously and end up uploading a copy-pasted curriculum vitae.

It’s called CV but it doesn’t mean CTRL+C and CTRL+V. Job seeking is probably a monotonous task, especially the process of selection. Your resume is what assures your selection in the desired organization. It squeezes an individual to the end and takes all the sweat down to the floors. If you want to stand out of the crowd, so, there is one thing to keep in mind. Recruiters receive hundreds of resumes daily then what makes your resume stand out of those hundreds? The game of selection starts right from writing the header of your resume.

If you want your resume to stand out among the others, then it’s not a big deal. It’s just all about identifying the needs of recruiters and tailor your skills just like their needs. You can create a winning resume in 5 simple steps. Here, we go.

1- Name/Adress/Contact– This is the universal format of a resume, generally used by all job seekers. It simply starts with your name on the top and address, Email, LinkedIn and Contact, respectively. You can also put in links to your best works along with your contact and other profiles. Make sure you don’t overwhelm the ideas or information while working on this part of your resume. Keep your header neat and clean. Right and useful information should be delivered by this section.

2- Short Introduction–  Most people get confused about ‘what to write in their introduction’. Kindly keep in mind that this introduction is dissimilar to the one you delivered on your orientation day. Your professional skills are to be identified by this piece of writing. You can include your features, your attributes, and characteristics and previous employment while writing a short introduction. As it’s a short intro so keep it as short as possible, but also mention whatever you think will impact your resume.

3- Be Professional– A resume should be written in a formal tone, whereas most people describe their professional skills unprofessionally. Be professional and keep your tone formal while mentioning your working skills and abilities. Describe your abilities in descending order and make sure you’re not beating your drums. Be real and there should be anything over your resume. It helps you crack an interview easily than others. Start right from your first organization and end up mentioning the reason for leaving.

4- Extracurricular or Additional Activities– People often avoid participating or socializing in their colleges and unfortunately that could make a big change in your ordinary resume. Everyone comes up with years of professional experience and ability to grab the job, but your additional skills are what catches an opportunity. You can add all your extra activities here from both, professional and general ground.

5- Academic Background– Here you go to write the most impressive section of your resume. Your selection solely depends on your academics, therefore, make sure you left nothing to mention behind. Also, mention your total percentage, academic year and completing year as well.

Once, you go through these steps, it’s time to proofread and find your mistakes before someone else finds them. Proofreading is always a good way to ensure your success while writing. Also, if you took any gape for any reason then mention it. Make sure you talk with facts only companies often not hire entertainers.
