Netflix is a gold mine of wonderful stuff, especially if you’re confined at home due to the coronavirus epidemic and don’t want to go insane trying to find ways to pass the time. Apart from She Web Series, there are many upcoming shows on Netflix to watch during this lockdown as well. However, if we’re being brutally honest, Indian material pales in comparison to those of its international equivalents. With the exception of Delhi Crime, Sacred Games season 1, Jamtara, and the latest Ye Kaali Kaali Aankhein, the rest has been middling, mediocre, or downright boring. And with Imtiaz Ali’s debut web series on the OTT platform, She web series — quite honestly, the worst of the desi bunch on Netflix — things have taken a sudden turn for the worst.
Aaditi Pohankar and Vijay Varma are the main stars of this seven-episode She web series directed by famous filmmaker Imtiaz Ali. It’s now streaming on Netflix.
What’s The Story About:
She web series follows Bhumika (Aaditi Pohankar), a middle-class police policeman who is assigned as an undercover cop to disrupt a narcotics ring run by an underworld don in Mumbai. The surprise is that before she can apprehend the don, Bhumika must engage in physical combat with multiple thugs. The tale revolves around how she manages all of this.
Bhumi’s universe in the She web series revolves around issues and the chawl where she lives with her mother and siblings in South Mumbai. Pohankar wants and gets the most of the screen time. Her transformation from a shy constable to a confident yet reserved undercover policeman is astonishing. Pohankar is tough in moments when appropriate, and her pan-dead face does the most of the talking in the first few episodes, despite her past life making her vulnerable.
Bhumi’s world is turned upside down when she is instructed to disguise herself as a prostitute in order to apprehend one of Mumbai’s drug lords, Sasya, played exceptionally by Vijay Varma. Sasya is quickly apprehended by the Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotic Cell because of their sleazy intensity. And the rest of the story picks up from here in the She web series.
What’s Good:
Aaditi Phankar’s performance in She web series will take your breath away. As a middle-class cop, she is venerable, but when she goes undercover, she reveals her beast side. The entire process of her becoming a sex worker in the gang is depicted in fascinating detail. Vijay Varma is fantastic as the Hyderabadi-speaking bandit. His moments with Aaditi are very captivating. Every episode also has a wonderful twist at the conclusion. But the finest part is the climax of the She web series, which will astound you.
What’s Bad:
Despite Aaditi and Vijay’s best attempts, the multiple flaws or, dare I say, craters in the storytelling and directing are barely concealed in She web series. Imtiaz Ali, Divya Johri, Arif Ali, and Avinash Das have created a jumble. This Netflix web She web series is a classic example of too many chefs ruining the soup. It fumbles between deciding to be an erotic thriller, crime drama, modern noir, feminist portion, pensive portrait of repressed sexuality, or inherent remark on abuse, eventually to do a lot of harm to all of these narratives. It has eventually ended up as a meaningless mess that is entirely predictable and only leads to shallowness and boredom.
While there are only seven episodes in season one of the She web series, each lasting 25-30 minutes. It’s tough to keep focused until the climax, which raises questions about Manish Jaitly’s editing. Ishaan Chhabra and Gaurang Soni’s theme music and backdrop composition help our ability to stay awake. The ostensibly significant narrative developments, on the other hand, can be spotted coming a mile away, especially by people who’ve watched a lot of similar but far better content.
Final Verdict
Overall, She web series is one of those crime thrillers that features excellent acting as well as thrilling action. The twists, storytelling, and taking of the story are all engrossing. The series is intended for adults only and contains some graphic situations. This can be a good one-time watch, especially when we are starting work from home again.

She web series – Season 2 (Upcoming)
Bhumi must now choose between the side with the police or crime boss Nayak, as she is deeply immersed in the covert assignment with her newly discovered sexual liberation erupting.
On social media, Aaditi Pohankar, who portrays the disguised inspector, says: “There’s a lot more drama, a lot more intensity, and a lot more strength. Think you’re ready for what Bhumika has planned next? Think again. She web series Season 2 is now filming, so hold on to your seats.”
Imtiaz Ali, who co-wrote the She web series, is also getting ready. “She’s in perilous seas, but be warned: anything she does will undoubtedly cause a ruckus,” he warns.
