Ayodhya is ready to witness the most awaited ceremony of 2024, Ram Mandir’s inauguration. Years of dispute and controversies finally come on a good note, as India will welcome Lord Ram to Ayodhya on 22 January 2024. What are the key things expected for the ceremony and major highlights? Here in the blog, we will cover everything; stay till the end.
‘Pran Prathishtha’ Ceremony

As per Hindu ritual, a ceremony of Pran Prathishtha is organised before any temple inauguration. The tradition aims to add the spiritual energies of God to the statue established in the temple. As Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, is the birthplace of Lord Ram, the Hindu God, Ram Mandir is ready to unveil its first-look statue as a sign of inviting positivity to the temple.
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust schedules the whole ceremony. Major prestigious guests are invited to witness the auspicious events, including Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
As per the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the whole event comprises:
- Shringar Aarti: To be placed at 6.30 am
- Bhog Aarti: To be placed at 12 pm
- Sandhya Aarti: To be placed at 7.30 pm
For safety guidelines and decorum, only 30 people are allowed to join the aarti with a pass. You can check out trust website to apply for the pass.
A seven-day religious activity to celebrate the ceremony has already started on 16 January 2024 in Ayodhya. The Ram Mandir ‘Pran Pratishtha’ is likely to begin at 12:20 pm on January 22 and might end by 1 pm.
Golden Gate & Ram Jyoti
A beautiful golden gate with an aesthetic design was installed at the entrance to enhance the glory of the auspicious Ram Mandir. The Golden Gate features two elephants in a welcoming pose while folding their hands. Apart from this, the artwork on the gate features idols of Lord Hanuman, Lord Vishnu, and the lion crafting.
The most famous festival in India, Diwali, is celebrated every year to show happiness for the arrival of Lord Ram after 14 years of exile. Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged every Indian to follow the same traditions on 22 January 2024 and ignite a lamp symbolising Ram Jyoti to illuminate the whole country and remove darkness.
Holiday Declared For Government Offices
Many state governments have declared a holiday in their offices on 22 January to take part in the Ram Mandir’s inauguration and actively bring unity. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that all educational institutes for Uttar Pradesh would be closed, the same thing followed by Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Goa and other locations.
It would be a grand celebration in Ayodhya; however, due to security, entry is limited, but the Ram Mandir will be open for devotees from 23 January 2024.
