April 17, 2020: The President Donald Trump on Thursday passed a three-phase plan to retain the US economy crash due to COVID-19, and the plan may include movie theaters and a few sporting venues.
This plan to restore normal activities in the USA would start after strong testing in the area has less transmission of coronavirus. “You’re going to call your own shots” said Mr. Trump in an audio recording obtained by The Associated Press, “We are going to be standing alongside you,” he added.
The new guidelines released from the Trump Administration aim to ease the restrictions in the area where low transmission of COVID-19 has been detected meanwhile highly sensitive areas will remain closed. Alex Azer, US Health and Human Services Secretary warns that social distancing measures will need to remain in the country by the end of this year to prevent a new outbreak.
Areas with less transmission of coronavirus and strong testing would start a three-phased plan to reopen the US economy by resuming businesses and schools – each phase of testing would last for 14-days – to make sure that the infections don’t transmit again. Here’s what Trump’s 3-phase plan includes.
In the first phase “Opening up America Again” the plan includes strict social distancing measurement for all in public places. A gathering of over 10 people would be restricted and nonessential travel would be minimized. Social and physical distancing should remain in public areas, and telecommuting will continue to start where possible.
In the second phase “Encourage Social Distancing” the plan can only begin if a community shows no symptoms of COVID-19. It will include people to maximize social distancing measures where possible and limit the mass gathering of more than 50 people and travel may resume.
In the third phase “Normalcy for Americans’ ‘ the plan will aim to encourage normalcy for the most American citizens, with main focus on detecting and isolating new infected patients. Gyms, Hotels, Hospitals and Restaurants will open with a ‘standard sanitation protocol’ and bars will start operation with increased standing room capacity.
Delaware Gov. John Carney, an American Democrat, said that Trump’s new guidelines seem to make sense. “We’re days” may be weeks or months away from the bending line and then the administration has to have 14-days of strong screening and testing. Hope the restrictions could be safely lifted, he added.
