Additionally, a Washington-based financial institution anticipated that the East-Asia region could face the sharpest and most tragic economic crash in more than two decades, dropping most of the region into an elongated downturn.
The regional GDP could cut down to 2.2% in 2020 in comparison to approximated growth of 5.9% in 2019, shows The World’s Bank baseline forecast. However, in this epidemic situation, the region’s financial situation could slow down from 0.9%, minding the potentials of the upcoming crisis.
The People’s Republic of China, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak where the COVID-19 is said to have originated, could face an economic decline of 2.45, projected in the baseline forecast for 2020.

In response to this and alleviate the sudden economic slowdown, the World Bank has requested to pass $14 billion financial support for the developing countries and provide up to $160 billions over 15 months to safeguard poor and vulnerable.
