April 15,2020: US-China standoff has been almost settled as China has agreed to help the USA to some extent, but US President Donald Trump made a big statement on Tuesday, The US will suspend payment to WHO. The President confirmed that he has allowed the administration to cut off the regular funds to the World Health Organization over its poor handling of the Coronavirus outbreak. “Not the time, WHO failed in its basic duties to halt the spread of the virus” Mr. Trump said. 

“The situation could be handled smoothly at the beginning, but it was found deficient in handling it” Confirmed Donald Trump in a press conference at the White House on Tuesday evening.

He also blamed the organization for spreading misinformation and negligence in managing the spread of the Coronavirus around the world after it originated in China, it must be held responsible, he added. Mr. Trump previously had accused the WHO of being influenced by China.

Besides managing things in a challenging environment, The President himself has been criticized by the people of the United State for his poor handling of the Coronavirus Outbreak in the US. As Donald Trump has refused to impose countrywide lockdown indeed he warns the citizens to be ready for 1.5 million deaths due to Coronavirus. People have criticized the Trump administration for mismanaging the virus. Hydroxychloroquine’s request from India to finally bow out of US-China Standoff caused Trump’s statement over the virus as he called it ‘Chinese Virus’ the situation is getting worse in the states.

In response to Trump’s Statement, United Nations Secretary, General Antonio Guterres said it was “Not the Right Time” to cut off funding of the World Health Organization or any other organization indulging in fighting against the pandemic.

Donald Trump confirmed the US would continue to send funds to WHO in chase of what the US wants to be reformed. He confirmed that the hold on WHO fundings will be uplifted after US reviews the organizations warnings about the pandemic and increasing cases in China.

By cutting 15% of the US contribution to WHO funding as the time when “It is the time of unity for the international community to work as a group to curb the effect of the pandemic” it could be worse than the disaster itself, said Guterres.
