K Annamalai to Quit BJP and Launch His New Political Party

The Lion’s Next Move: Will Annamalai Quit BJP?

K Annamalai – BJP Singham. This is what people call him, “Singham”. Due to his furious decisions and fiery personality, he was termed as “lion”. But has the roar of the lion faded? Tamil Nadu politics is buzzing as K Annamalai is on the verge of quitting the BJP. Rumors are everywhere that an officer turned political leader is quitting the party and starting his own political party.

K Annamalai was in the eyes of the public for the last few years due to his fierce speech, bold decisions, and aggressive campaigns. Speculation reached a boiling point when giant posters appeared across Coimbatore with slogans like, “Our Leader, Come and Lead Us.” When asked about his future, Annamalai cryptically replied, “Please wait. We will sit down and talk in two days.

From Khakhi to Politics

K Annamalai was an IPS officer in Karnataka who served the state for nearly a decade. But now he seems to have lost his way in politics.

K Annamalai was born and brought up in a humble family of farmers in a village in Karur district, Tamil Nadu. He always wanted to join the civil services, so he worked really hard, cleared the civil services exam, and took up the position of an IPS officer in Karnataka.

He was known for his strict rules and actions against crimes; from this, he earned his nickname “Singham”.

He was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Bengaluru, in May 2019, and a year later, he resigned from his position, stating that he wanted to spend some time with his family. This came as a shock to everyone.

After resigning in 2020, he joined the BJP and became the youngest President of the party in Tamil Nadu in 2021. Over his four-year tenure, he traveled to every corner of the state with his En Mann, En Makkal (My Land, My People) march, becoming a sensation among educated youth and social media users.

Why is He Stepping Down From BJP?

When everything is going on so smoothly, why is he leaving the party? But the sources have to say something else. It claims that the party and Annamalai are facing some big ideological differences, due to which he said he can not survive in this party.

Annamalai’s vision was very clear from the start to build the party from the roots in Tamil Nadu and work as an independent force. But the BJP joined hands with the AIADMK to defeat the ruling party DMK. This decision made the differences between the party and Annamalai.

The report says that Annamalai is visiting Delhi to meet the top political leader Amit Shah for a peaceful resignation and to thank him for the opportunity.

He is also planning to launch a grassroot movement first and later convert it into a political party in the coming six to eight months. He is looking to build a secular regional party with a national outlook.

The “Singham” may be stepping away from the lotus, but his political roar is far from over. Tamil Nadu is about to witness a fascinating new chapter.
