Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Defeats Tesla As The Fastest EV

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT

Electric cars are the future of commute. Experts worldwide agree that electric cars are the most sustainable and feasible option for making low-emission cars. This is why almost every major car manufacturer in the world has developed an all-electric lineup. One such car company, which has been slaying the competition for decades, Porsche, announced their all-electric Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package in 2021. Now, the car is finally here and has become the talk of the town after Porsche claimed that their  Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package had broken the previous all-electric track record at Laguna Seca, United States of America. In this blog, we will learn everything about the  Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package and tell you what breaking an existing track record means.

What Is The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package is an all-electric powerhouse of a car by Porsche. It is the fastest road-legal all-electric car ever made by Porsche. The base model of the Porsche Taycan can do 0-100 KMPH in 4.5 seconds and has an engine that pumps out around 350 HP. However, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package has a 1034 HP engine that does 0-100 KMPH in 2.1 seconds. This makes the  Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package the fastest all-electric Porsche ever made.

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package Record

Recently, the pre-production model of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT also broke the lap record at the Nurburgring, completing the course at 7:07:55. Porsche Taycan Turbo GT made the headlines again a few days earlier after it broke the track record at Laguna Seca, United States of America. Tesla Model S Plaid previously held the record. However, after recording a time of 1:27:87 (Minutes:Seconds:Semi-seconds), the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package became the fastest road-legal series-production car in the world. Previously, Tesla Model S Plaid had completed the course in 1:28:2 in 2021.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT’s time of 1:27:87 is also not far off from the lap record set by the McLaren Senna, which did the course in 1:27:79. This is a very big thing because Senna is a Petrol car, which makes it a lot lighter, faster and agile than Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. It’s worth noting that the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is the fastest car in the world in terms of on-track performance. This car is not the fastest in a straight line or has the best 0-100 or quarter-mile numbers.

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Specifications

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is one of the fastest cars ever made by Porsche. The top model, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package, has two motors, one on each axle. Under normal conditions, the motors produce a total power of 789 HP and around 1100 Nm torque. However, with Porsche’s special attack mode, you can take the power figures up to 1043 HP and 1340 Nm of torque.

Moreover, the car is jam-packed with the latest technology. For example, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT uses a 900 amp battery and motor construction rather than using the same old 600 amps system. This ensures that the motor’s reaction time is reduced and the performance increases. The increase in performance translates to a bonkers o-100 timing and a top speed of 306 KMPH, which is a little less but still more than enough for an EV.

Additionally, the car is pretty much entirely made out of carbon fibre. It has carbon Fibre seats, a carbon Fibre Dashboard, a body kit, wings, and many more components. This ensures that the car remains light to perform the way its meant to.
