The NTA (National Testing Agency) released the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam) UG 2024 retest result on Monday, 6 July 2024, and students can check their scorecard on the official website.
NTA stated, “It is now informed that revised score cards of all candidates of NEET (UG) 2024 (including of 1,563 candidates who appeared in the re-test on 23 June 2024) are being hosted on the website (https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/). Candidates can login to the website and view/download/print their respective revised Score Cards.”
The revised result reduces the topper tally to 61, down from 67. The six candidates who scored 720/720 after receiving grace marks couldn’t attain full marks on the retest. However, they attained high scores, upwards of 680, showing a desire for perfection. In the retest five of those six toppers appeared in the retest, and the remaining student will receive the original score without grace marks.
Officials shared that only 813 out of 1563 candidates appeared in the retest. This retest was conducted in the same six cities, but the agency selected six new exam centres for it. According to the data, none of the two candidates from Chandigarh appeared in the retest. A total of 291 out of 692 candidates appeared from Chattisgarh, 1 from Gujarat, 287 out of 494 from Haryana and 234 from Tura, Meghalaya.
The NTA conducted the first NEET exam on 5 May 2024 across 4750 centres in 571 cities, where 23 lakh students participated. Surprisingly, 67 students scored 720/720 on this exam. However, when the truth about the paper leak came out, the Supreme Court ordered the NTA to conduct a retest on 23 June for 1563 candidates who received grace marks in the previous exam.
