June 1, 2020: After a long wait of 68-days coronavirus-induced lockdown, the country entered the first phase of a three-phase unlocking plan, namely lockdown 5.0 or unlock 0.1 announced by the union ministry of home affairs. However the restriction imposed by lockdown will remain the same in the containment zones till 30 June.
With 1.9M confirmed covid-19 cases and the death toll stands at 5,394, India climbed up to be the 7th worst-hit nation in the list of top worst affected countries by this covid-19 pandemic. Unlock 0.1 will come into effect from Monday as the lockdown 4.0 will end on Sunday. Announced on Saturday, unlock 0.1 includes three phases and the restrictions will be uplifting with every passing phase. Here’s what will open and remain closed as per the new guideline issues the union ministry of home affairs.
Unlock 0.1 Guidelines: List of the Orders Issued by MHA
Phase one:
- Phase one: Religious places will open with strict social distancing implementation.
- Hotels, Restaurants, and other hospitality services will continue to serve customers.
- Shopping malls will reopen with their full strength but social distancing measures will have to be followed.
- Weekly markets and supermarkets will reopen.
- Following orders will come into effect by June 8, 2020.
Phase two:
- Schools, colleges, educational/training institutes and coaching centers will reopen after consultation with the state and UTs. The decision in this regard will be taken in July.
Phase three:
- International flights may resume by the MHA.
- Metro Rail service in Delhi may resume.
- Government may discuss the opening of cinema halls, swimming pools, gymnasiums, theaters, stadiums and other entertainment parks as well.
- Large congregations and gathers of social, religious, cultural and academic will start.
Apart from these relaxations, MHA will put more focus on containment zones and red zo9nes including buffer zones will be under lockdown till June 30, 2020.
- The demarcation of these zones will be in accordance with the directives of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and will be carried out by district authorities.
- Only essential activities will be carried out in these zones.
- There will be no movement of people in or out of these zones, unless it is for medical purposes or for maintaining the supply of essential goods and services.
- Intensive contact tracing, house-to-house surveillance or clinical interventions will be carried out in these zones as needed.
With strict social distancing and safety measurement at both public and workplaces, offices will resume with their full strength. Sanitization of work places and restaurants is must. And the government may uplift all the restrictions, if everything goes in a planned manner. It will be discussed after successful execution of the unlocking 0.1.
