China’s Population May Decline Positively Till 2025

Trend to Review News

Global Times recently shared the reports of population growth in China. For decades, China has been considered the most populated country in the world. With such large numbers, the country started facing environmental and natural resources crises. For a couple of years, the government has been spreading awareness to the natives about population growth and overpopulation.

However, the report is new; there has been an expectation that China will face a good population shrinkage until 2025. As the reports state, the lowest population growth in terms of birth rate has been the lowest in the last decade.

A senior health official shared the remark on reports shared by Global Times; he said this is the first time seeing such a decline in numbers. This could lead to a population shrinkage until 2025. The reports shared that the number of births in Hunan Province was below 500,000, which is the lowest in the last six decades. Other provinces also have shown a great decline in the birth rate resulting in a controlled or less populated country.

The only place with larger growth was Southern Guangdong province, as it has had more than one million births in the past year.  All these changes have a mixed review from the general public, as last year, the government passed a law stating that women with three kids or more would not receive any benefit and help from the government. This, however, was criticised as the women must be provided with better medical medicinal help. Nevertheless, the changing numbers could have an impact on countries’ populations and would positively impact China’s growth.
